Job summary

Weinrich Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Tractor Backhoe Operator to support water and sewer crews. You will mainly run a hoe pack on a backhoe and may operate a track hoe, focusing on trench work around utilities and assisting with material organization.

Qualifications

TRACTOR BACKHOE OPERATOR - Water & Sewer Construction

WCL is looking for an experienced Underground Tractor Backhoe Operator to support our water and sewer crews following earthworks. This role focuses on running a hoe pack on a backhoe and potentially a track hoe, compacting clay around existing utilities as well as helping the wheel loader with aggregate and material organization.

What You Need

• 3+ years experience operating tractor backhoes in underground water and sewer or heavy civil construction.
• Strong ability to work around existing utilities and live services.
• Comfortable supporting mainline crews with aggregate and material as needed.
• Strong understanding of trench safety and underground job site practices.
• Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Required Tickets

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• WHMIS & CSTS 2020 (or willing to obtain).

Schedule

• 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday to Friday.
• 8 hour Saturdays (some Saturdays planned off).
• Some rain days off.
• Potential for backfill and prep work on some Sundays and long weekends.
