This 115-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. What will you do this year?

In your role as a Trackless Train Driver your primary accountabilities will be to:

• Operate Trackless Train people mover in a safe and professional manner.
• Train operation is a John Deere Garden tractor with train façade with 2 people carrier trailers attached. A full train carries 48 passengers.
• Transport guests from one location to another within the PNE Park during Fair operating hours, within pedestrian traffic areas.
• Conduct daily safety inspection of vehicles and records deficiencies in compliance with the PNE's Safe Vehicle Operation policy and ASTM standards set out by rides departments.
• Greet and assist guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ensure proper PNE dress code and appearance standards are adhered to at all times.
• Perform other related duties as required by Supervisor

What else?

• Must have 3-5 years previous experience as a driver.
• Must have a Class 4 unrestricted BC Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.
• Must be able to demonstrate their ability to operate the train in a confident manner.
• Thorough knowledge of the PNE Park and surrounding area preferred.
• Must have knowledge of Work Safe BC Regulations.
• Ability to greet and communicate with guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
• Must be capable of reading, writing, and speaking English for the purposes of written or oral instructions, timesheets, and documentation of work.
• Some related experience is preferred.
• Must be available to work varying shifts including late nights, weekends, and evenings
• Must be available to work full-time hours for the duration of the Fair from August 16 - September 1
• Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
