Job summary

Trillium Rail Partners is seeking a Track Structures Technical Coordinator to provide technical and coordination support for the ECWE-SRS project, overseeing design, construction, and integration of track-related structures.

This role ensures safety, quality, and schedule alignment, with responsibilities spanning design coordination, field support, documentation, and cross-discipline collaboration to deliver reliable rail infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or rail infrastructure projects, with specific exposure to track structures.
• Strong understanding of railway design standards, construction methodologies, and structural systems.
• Experience with technical coordination between design and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design and construction activities for track-related structures.
• Review drawings, specifications and submittals for compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Support field teams with technical guidance and ensure design intent is maintained.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation and change records.
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants and client representatives for information and approvals.
• Participate in inspections, testing, and QA activities for track components.
• Contribute to risk assessments, constructability reviews, and interface coordination meetings.

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometres farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.

PositionOverview:

TheTrackStructuresTechnicalCoordinatorwillprovidetechnicalandcoordinationsupportforthedesign,construction,andintegrationoftrack-relatedstructuresontheECWE-SRSproject.Thisroleensuresallstructuralworksassociatedwiththerailwaytracksystemareexecutedsafely,efficiently,andinaccordancewithprojectspecifications,qualitystandards,andschedulerequirements.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Coordinatethedesignandconstructionactivitiesfortrack-relatedstructures,includingbridges,retainingwalls,culverts,andothersupportinginfrastructure.
• Reviewtechnicaldrawings,specifications,andsubmittalstoensurecompliancewithprojectrequirementsandapplicablestandards.
• Collaboratewithengineering,construction,andqualityteamstoresolvetechnicalissuesandensurealignmentacrossdisciplines.
• Supportfieldteamsbyprovidingtechnicalguidanceandensuringdesignintentismaintainedduringconstruction.
• Monitorprogressofstructuralworksandassistinmaintainingaccuratedocumentation,reports,andchangerecords.

Qualifications:

• DegreeorDiplomainCivilorStructuralEngineeringorrelateddiscipline.

• Strongunderstandingofrailwaydesignstandards,constructionmethodologies,andstructuralsystems.
• Experiencewithtechnicalcoordinationbetweendesignandconstructionteams.
• Excellentcommunication,documentation,andproblem-solvingskills.
• Proficiencyinreadingandinterpretingtechnicaldrawingsandspecifications.
• Workingknowledgeofrelevantsoftwaretools(AutoCAD,Bluebeam,MSOffice,etc.).
• Familiarity with Metrolinx or other major rail infrastructure projects is an asset.
