Job summary

CN is seeking a Track Operations Leader to direct track inspection and repair across an assigned territory, including rails, ties, switches and ballasts. The role provides daily support to the Track Supervisor and leads track gangs in alignment with CN's operating plan.

You will ensure safety, budget adherence, and compliance with collective agreements, while coordinating with Transportation and Mechanical to prevent derailments and incidents.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in safety compliance.
• Experience troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Experience in budget management and labour relations (interpretation of collective agreements, responses to grievances).
• Experience supervising a unionized workforce.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering/track operations per CN's operating plan.
• Supervise track gangs and hi-rail operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, Transport Canada guidelines, CN standards and policies.
• Lead people with direction and coaching; monitor performance.
• Apply collective agreements and company policies; handle investigations and grievances.
• Oversee budgets and productivity; align with Five Guiding Principles.
• Communicate track conditions and production to senior management.
• Ensure track safety through regulatory inspections; input findings into TIS.
