Reporting to the Foreman, the Track Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a track loader. The operator will perform duties to ensure work meets Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd.'s standards, adheres to company policies, and complies with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations and contract specifications.

How You’ll Add Value

• Operate the track loader to backfill trenches, level soil, load trucks, haul aggregates, and move rock/debris.
• Operate equipment within an active site, maintaining awareness of surroundings.
• Perform pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of equipment.
• Follow supervisor instructions regarding work areas.
• Understand ground disturbance processes and underground utility construction materials and standards.
• Operate other heavy equipment as needed.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment as part of our safety culture.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in underground utility construction and operating a track loader.
• Experience with skid steer (ISO controls) is a plus.
• Valid Ground Disturbance certificate.
• Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s record (no more than 6 demerits, no major infractions).
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of underground utility installation, materials, industry standards, and OH&S requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 40 lbs occasionally.
