Job summary

The Salvation Army Gifts of Hope Toy Room Assistant Coordinator supports the Gift of Hope program by coordinating toy drives, managing toy rooms, and assisting registrants and referrals. You will work with volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations and accurate data handling.

Skills in MS Office and data entry, plus a heart for service, are essential. The role involves some weekend/evening work and local travel as needed in the community setting.

Qualifications

• Two-year Community College Diploma in a human services field (Social Services Worker) required.
• Minimum two years of related casework experience in social services/mental health setting.
• Knowledge of community resources; network with govt and social service agencies.
• Experience with program facilitation, administrative duties, and program development.
• Driver's licence (BC Class 5), vehicle, and insurance; ability to provide driving abstract.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate toy drives and promote the Gifts of Hope program.
• Maintain toy rooms, coordinate packing, distribution, and inventory.
• Input data and generate reports using Link2Feed or Excel.
• Assist with referrals for additional support needs.
• Train and lead volunteers in the Gifts of Hope distribution centre.
