Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring a temporary Christmas Support Worker to assist Community and Family Services during the holiday season. You will help process donations, coordinate pickups, and support the distribution centre setup and takedown.

Flexibility in shifts and ability to lift up to 20 lbs are required. Strong computer skills, a valid Ontario driver's license, and prior experience in community programs are assets.

Qualifications

• Completed High School or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of prior related experience in community-based programs is an asset.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and proficient with email and internet applications.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License; personal vehicle and auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Process, unload, document and sort donations for the Christmas program.
• Assist with pickups of food and toy donations from community donors.
• Help set up and take down the Christmas hamper distribution centre.
• Sort toy donations and record data clearly and accurately.
• May assist with the Kettle campaign as needed.
