Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Address customer complaints or concerns
  • Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
  • Maintain professionalism in customer service
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Handle payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all vehicle aspects
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarp cargo and ensure safety and security of loads
  • Repair and balance tires
