Job description

The Total Rewards Coordinator is accountable for providing support around the total rewards strategy. As part of this role, you will be responsible for benefit, pension, and other total rewards program administration and reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, you will also partner with HR Business Partners and external partners on an ongoing basis in order to provide insights to support decisions, manage our data governance, and consistently apply an equitable approach in administering our total reward offerings.

Pension & Benefits :

  • Administer all pension and benefit processes through MLSE’s HRIS system (Workday), ensure the integrity of information, and apply the reporting features to manage programs.
  • Administer MLSE’s EAP, Canadian and US Benefit plans including processing enrollments, and generating premium remittance and reconciliation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding the pension and benefit program, and act as a liaison with providers to address employee benefit concerns or questions.
  • Own and administer MLSE’s Group RRSP and Defined Contribution Pension Plan while managing and processing enrollments and terminations, including providing accurate information to plan administrators.
  • Assist with disability and leave management.
  • Participate in HR technology projects relating to benefits process improvements and data integrity in Workday.

Wellness Program Coordination

  • Support Total Rewards Specialist with executing wellness initiatives.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to promote employee engagement, monitor participation, and evaluate program effectiveness.

Reporting :

  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports related to compensation, benefits, vacation accrual, and workforce metrics.
  • Support audits and data validation processes.

Compensation :

  • Support annual rate increases for hourly employees.
  • Work on other compensation projects as assigned.

  • Experienced and knowledgeable user of HRIS systems (Cloud based preferred such as Workday, Oracle, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of pension / benefit administration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Human Resources Management, Finance, or equivalent in training & experience preferred.
  • Strong customer focus, comfortable implementing change and working in ambiguity.
  • Capable of making decisions within guidelines and policies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of Canadian benefits and pension legislation.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation an asset.
