DUTIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Employee Service Centre & Total Rewards, this position will be directly involved in the compensation and benefit related planning and decision making.Responsible for conducting research and analysis in different areas involving compensation and benefits, such as job evaluation, statistics, market evaluations for the Non Union Job Evaluation Maintenance Committee as well as the job evaluation committees at Transit Windsor and Windsor Public Library;Maintenance of pay equity and internal equity, maintain salary schedules;Calculate retroactive pay adjustments associated with pay equity, job evaluation and/or salary market reviews;Provide administrative oversight for any salary market review;Provide guidance and strategic thinking in the design and maintenance of employee benefits, compensation programs, systems, policies and procedures, assessing the budgetary impact of compensation and benefit related decisions;Provide insight of compliance with regulations and labour laws, e.g. collective agreements, Pay Equity Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Canada Labour Code, and Canadian Human Resources Code.Collaborate with others to determine compensation and benefits design, structure and develop and/or amend policies and procedures.Develop, implement and maintain compensation and benefits policies, procedures and guidelines;Primary contact with insured benefit carriers and our 3rd party consultant for all aspects of the benefits program.Review claim utilization reports and insured benefit trends, lead plan design discussions and bring forward recommendations for consideration.Assist in preparation and completion of various compensation and benefit related surveys.A resource contact regarding Pay Equity and Internal Equity issues.Communicate with management, union, association and/or employees on pay equity, internal equity issues and compensation related matters.Provide guidance and advice to human resources staff on job design, job postings and job evaluation.Work with Human Resources and Payroll staff to become informed on current issues and problem areas evident in day-to-day administrative experiences.Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program.Will perform other related duties as required.
