Position Details:
Position: Full Time (Temp) Traffic Guard
Site: Toronto Pearson Airport - 6301 Silver Dart Drive Mississauga, ON
Hours: Monday to Friday (1430 - 2230)
Payrate: $19.30 / an hour
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Schedule Sample:

• Week 1 - Monday to Friday (1430- 2230)
• Week 2 - Monday to Friday (1430 - 2230)
• Week 3 - Monday to Friday (1430 - 2230)
• Week 4 - Monday to Friday (1430 - 2230)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide vehicular and pedestrian traffic direction and control on the groundside area of the Airport.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Direct or control movement of vehicles at specific locations.
• Ensure the safe, orderly and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
• Institute regular patrols at various times each day and provide the public with relevant information.
• Ensure the separation of vehicles and pedestrians by controlling crosswalks and lane separations.
• Enforce the "Traffic on Land Side of Airports Regulations".
• Issue Parking Infraction Notices (PINs) in accordance with established training procedures.
• Attend court for the purpose of giving evidence on PINs issued.
• Anticipate and address areas of vehicular or pedestrian congestions.
• Respond to Charter Bus call-up requests.
• Assist passengers with boost requests by calling Tow Trucks.
• Ensure work areas are clear of obstacles to maintain a safe environment.

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor).
• English fluency (oral and written) is a must.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Customer Service experience is an asset.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program.
