Job summary

Pinterest in Toronto is seeking a Machine Learning Intern to apply ML and AI to product and engineering challenges. You will collaborate with engineering, product and data teams to prototype, evaluate and improve ML-powered features and discovery experiences.

Throughout the internship you’ll work on real projects, learn how large-scale ML systems are developed, and build practical skills with guidance from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in CS/ML or related field.
• Experience with ML, NLP, or information retrieval.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Research experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own a scoped ML project from problem definition through experimentation and results communication.
• Contribute to applied ML and AI research informing product experiences.
• Collect, analyze and synthesize data to develop data-driven models.
• Write clean, maintainable code with documentation and testing.
• Apply ML techniques to modeling and ranking problems across discovery, ads and search.
