Job summary

Pinterest in Toronto is seeking inquisitive engineering interns to learn how large‑scale systems operate while contributing real projects and features, under mentors from product, design, data and engineering teams. Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a program pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with degree by June 2029.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with frameworks or technologies such as React.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned technical projects with attention to quality under mentor guidance.
  • Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end that contribute to Pinterest products and infrastructure.
  • Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable.
  • Collaborate with your team and contribute to production-oriented projects that support Pinterest’s goals.

We’re looking for inquisitive, collaborative interns to join our engineering teams.

Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and engineers, you’ll learn how large‑scale systems operate and play a meaningful role in building new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.

What you’ll do:

Complete assigned technical projects with attention to quality, incorporating feedback from your mentor, manager and peers Execute scoped technical tasks end‑to‑end that contribute to Pinterest products and infrastructure Deliver code that is well‑documented, tested, and operable Share ideas, questions and perspectives clearly and respectfully while learning from feedback Build technical and professional skills through learning and development opportunities Collaborate with your team and contribute to production‑oriented projects that support Pinterest’s goals Leverage opportunities to connect with leaders and colleagues across Pinterest and participate in intern program events Foundational exposure to AI concepts or AI‑assisted software development through coursework, projects, internships or practical experience Interest in learning how to use AI‑powered technologies responsibly to improve product development, while validating outputs through testing, review and engineering judgment

What we’re looking for:

This position requires current enrollment in a school or education program in which the individual is working towards a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical field Obtain Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field by June 2029 Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms. Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team. Non‑academic coding experience (i.e. hackathons, code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, OpenSource, volunteer coding experience, conference participation, etc.) A curious nature with a desire to tackle and solve complex problem This job posting is for an open vacancy.

In‑Office Requirement Statement:

This onsite internship will be based in our Toronto office requiring a few days in office. Our program will run in a full‑time capacity during typical business hours between Monday‑Friday. This role will need to be in the office for in‑person collaboration 2-3 weekdays per week and therefore needs to be within a commutable distance of Toronto.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
