Job summary

LATESYS Canada, a subsidiary of Groupe ADF, is seeking a toolmaker mechanic in Mirabel, QC. You will inspect equipment, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production.

You will read 2D/3D drawings, use precision tools, and document actions in the CMMS, collaborating with metrologists to restore jig compliance and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• DEP in industrial mechanics or related field.
• Experience in maintenance and mechanical tooling, ideally in aerospace or industrial manufacturing of high-precision parts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, shims, levels).
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to certifications and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic equipment inspections per maintenance plan.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement repairs.
• Adjust and repair tooling to maintain production continuity.

We are looking for our new toolmaker mechanic for our Latesys subsidiary based in Mirabel, QC.

What do we offer?

Reporting to the maintenance contract manager, your main duties will be:

• Perform periodic equipment inspections according to the established maintenance plan.

• Diagnose mechanical failures.

• Perform necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure the continuity of production operations.

• Work closely with the client's maintenance and production teams to plan interventions.

• Rigourously document all maintenance actions in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (inspections, repairs, replacements).

• Collaborate with metrologists to restore compliance for the most critical jigs in production.

• Comply with safety standards and internal procedures at all times.

• Communicate effectively with operators, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure optimal coordination.

Who are you?

• Professional Diploma (DEP) in industrial mechanics or a related field.

• Relevant experience in maintenance and mechanical tooling, ideally in aerospace or an industrial environment manufacturing large-scale, high-precision parts.

• Solid understanding of mechanical principles and industrial equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical schematics.

• Mastery of control tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, shims, levels, etc.).

• Good reading of 2D/3D drawings and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Good manual dexterity and technical skill (Ability to disassemble, adjust, and reassemble tooling rigorously).

• Rigour, autonomy, and team spirit.

• Excellent attention to detail: ability to spot small discrepancies.

• Commitment to occupational health and safety.

• Good technical judgment and respect for certification procedures.

• Comfortable writing inspection or certification reports.

• Very strong attention to detail, meticulous, precise.
