Plasman Inc. is seeking a skilled Toolmaker with a thorough understanding of molds, including their components, structure, design, and operation.

Position: Toolmaker

Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to: Process Manager

Responsibilities and Authorities:
The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performing preventative maintenance on all production tools.
• Thorough understanding of molds: components, structure, design, and operation.
• Disassembling, cleaning, and maintaining all components, ensuring reassembly without error.
• Making repairs such as scratch repair, sandblasting, welding, fitting, polishing, and venting of molds.
• Conducting repairs to hydraulic circuits, including rebuilding cylinders, hoses, and fittings.
• Making electrical repairs to hot runners, limit switches, and core circuits.
• Advanced knowledge of spotting and fitting; determining if weld repair is required.
• Properly using required hand tools in a safe manner.
• Plumbing repairs to water circuits, including hoses and fittings.
• Understanding spare parts availability.
• Troubleshooting molds in production to determine repair needs.
• Document control: yearly audit compliance and shipping/receiving molds.
• Coordinating with suppliers on tools out for repair or tools arriving.
• Building tools as required and assisting with end-of-arm/hand pieces.
• Partnering with the maintenance department to address tooling/molding process issues.
• Participating in Continuous Improvement activities and promoting teamwork.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Working in compliance with Quality and Business Operating Systems and all health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Completing any other duties as assigned.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:
The Toolmaker is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program, including the Occupational Health Legislation, regulations, standards, and Company Health & Safety policies.

Minimum Education and/or Designation Requirements:
This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.

Minimum Training Requirements:
This position requires the following minimum training:

• SDS sheets
• Quality, Environmental Health & Safety, and other relevant Company Policy awareness
• New Employee Orientation

Other Requirements:

• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated with mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to meet the physical lifting requirement of this position – lift 50 pounds occasionally or 25-40 pounds regularly, without assistance.
• Able to work hours before and after assigned shifts, including weekends as needed.
