Our client, a leader in Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Tooling/Fixture Engineer in their Windsor, Ontario Facility. The Tooling/Fixture Engineer is responsible for supporting new product launches and ECN changes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a manufacturing or stamping environment, and will have knowledge of materials, machining processes, and fabrication techniques. Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and follow-up on New Product Launches and ECN changes related to fixture engineering.
  • Quote, source (with New Model Manager), and track check fixtures.
  • Design and develop check fixtures with the fixture shop for use in tooling and stamping operations, ensuring they meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to understand product requirements and translate them into fixture designs.
  • Work with New Model and production teams to implement fixture designs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve fixture performance issues, making necessary adjustments for optimal functionality.
  • Maintain detailed records of fixture designs, modifications, and testing results.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, toolmakers, and production staff, to ensure seamless integration of fixtures into manufacturing processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in fixture design, tooling, or related fields, preferably in a manufacturing or stamping environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, especially stamping operations.
  • Knowledge of materials, machining processes, and fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand CMM layouts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
