Job description

Carfair Composites is a leader in fiber-reinforced plastic design and composite technologies. We supply quality fiberglass components to original equipment manufacturers in agriculture, automotive, construction, transportation, commercial, food processing, and medical industries.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of tooling used in the production process. Collaborates with engineering, production, and quality assurance departments to ensure tooling meets specifications and is available when needed. Manages tooling inventories, works with suppliers, and monitors tooling equipment condition and performance. Requires technical proficiency, project management skills, and effective communication with a diverse team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Coordinate the design, development, and acquisition of new tooling.
  • Manage and maintain tooling inventory for availability and efficiency.
  • Inspect and evaluate the condition and performance of existing tooling.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling issues.
  • Work with suppliers to procure high-quality tooling materials.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for tooling equipment.
  • Analyze production data and recommend tooling improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Generate detailed reports on tooling performance and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in calibration and testing of tooling equipment.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • High school diploma.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Knowledge of tool/equipment tracking software (preferred).
  • Knowledge of construction industry tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Lean practices for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies to expedite distribution.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Frequent travel to construction sites required, with exposure to outdoor elements, noise, and standing/walking.
