Job summary

Steelhaus Technologies Inc. is seeking a Tool Technician Level 1 to work closely with a team in the assembly and testing of Steelhaus products.

The role supports Shipping/Receiving and Quality departments and requires familiarity with hand tools and basic assembly processes. Responsibilities include maintaining health and safety, following OHS rules, performing pre-use inspections, and coordinating with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by following site rules and using protective equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and report hazards to supervisor.
  • Use hazard controls and PPE as designated by the employer and OHS legislation.
  • Avoid harassment and violence in the workplace.
  • Report health and safety concerns to employer or supervisor.
  • Participate in employer-provided training and cooperate with OHS requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues, supervisors and managers.

About The Role

The Tool Technician Level 1 will work closely with other Tool Technicians in the assembly and testing of Steelhaus products by utilizing various hand tools and assembly processes. The Tool Technician will support Shipping/Receiving and Quality department.

Responsibilities
  • Protecting their own and others’ health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.
  • Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.
  • Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
  • Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.
  • Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor.
  • Participating in any training provided by the employer.
  • Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
  • Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
General Labor Duties
  • Performing routine housekeeping around the shop.
  • Manual & mechanical lifting & moving equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Prepping equipment prior to testing.
  • Conducting pre‑use inspections of mobile equipment.
  • Operating pallet jack.
  • Setting up and operating overhead crane for lifting.
Assembly Duties
  • Preparing tools for building.
  • Building basic tools.
  • Use of hand tools.
Shipping & Receiving Duties
  • Manual & mechanical loading tools into crates for shipment.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office).
  • Skilled in the use of various hand tools.
  • Ability to communicate well with others.
