Job summary

You will ensure timely repairs, maintain the toolroom, set up and operate machine tools, and uphold health and safety standards while documenting daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Tool & Die Maker certificate required.
• Strong English communication skills, written and oral.
• Thorough knowledge of operating toolroom and production equipment.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Knowledge of SPC guidelines.
• Time management and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation of tools and dies.

Responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools.
• Position, secure, measure and lay out metal stock or castings for machining.
• Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools.
• Know how to perform toolsteel welding.
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Fit, assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools.
• Machine, fit and assemble casting and other parts to make metal patterns, core boxes.
• Ensure preventive maintenance programs are done on tools and dies on scheduled basis.
• Address quality problems and provide prompt resolutions to minimize production interruption.
• Accurately document daily tasks and fill out production sheets.
• Minimize costs through proper planning and efficient use of resources.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and safety regulations.
