Job summary

Multimatic in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Toolmaker / Manual Machinist to design, fabricate and maintain tooling that meets our manufacturing needs. You will work closely with Supervisors, Project Leaders and Engineers to ensure timely delivery of quality tooling that satisfies customer requirements.

The role requires a Tool and Die Maker certification or equivalent, 5–7 years of tooling experience, and knowledge of GD&T and CAD.

Qualifications

• Tool and Die Maker Certification or equivalent.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a tool & die maker.
• Knowledge of GD&T, CAD.
• Ability to delegate work.
• Basic knowledge of industry standard Windows applications.
• Lift Truck Safety Course and Crane Operation and Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and build tooling with input from Supervisor, Tooling Manager and Project Leaders.
• Interact with Designers/Project Leaders/Apprentices to develop (high volume) manufactural components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues.
• Ensure customer requirements, including project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met.
• Maintain job folder/electronic data and ensure proper job closure.
• Follow all documented quality procedures.
• Attend all required training courses and participate in continuous improvement activities.
