Purpose of the Role:
The SAP Finance Functional Lead manages the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP financial solutions, acting as a bridge between finance stakeholders and technical teams to ensure SAP functionalities align with business needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals. The role involves leading SAP finance projects and ensuring seamless financial operations integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Design and Implementation:
- Design SAP finance solutions focusing on SAP FI (Financial Accounting) and SAP CO (Controlling).
- Lead configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP finance modules.
- Ensure integration with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP) and third-party systems.
- Business Process Optimization:
- Analyze and improve financial processes using SAP to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Automate manual financial processes and improve reporting capabilities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Serve as primary liaison between finance stakeholders and SAP technical team.
- Gather, document, and ensure alignment of requirements with organizational standards.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively during projects.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Mentor and support team members.
- Coordinate with project managers on timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Training and Support:
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops.
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve SAP finance issues.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation including process flows, configurations, and guides.
- Create dashboards and reports to monitor financial and SAP system performance.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure SAP solutions comply with financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, tax laws).
- Identify risks and implement controls to ensure data security and integrity.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Functional Expertise: Extensive knowledge of SAP FI and CO modules, including submodules like GL, AP, AR, AA, Cost Center, and CO-PA. Understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, regulatory and compliance requirements, and aligning SAP solutions with organizational financial strategies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset for addressing complex financial challenges using SAP functionalities; effective issue resolution.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills for collaboration with finance and technical teams; ability to present technical info clearly.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Proven leadership in delivering SAP solutions; strong interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
- Project Management: Experience managing SAP finance projects, including planning, execution, and prioritization.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or related field. SAP certifications preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in SAP FI/CO implementation/support, with industry experience in manufacturing, retail, or financial services. Hands-on with SAP S/4HANA and project lifecycle.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Central Finance, Fiori apps, financial reporting tools, SAP Solution Manager, and data migration.
- Tools & Technologies: Knowledge of SAP modules integration, tax, banking, and treasury modules is a plus.
