Role Overview

• This role is within the Irish Life Group (ILG) Office of the CIO, reporting to the ILG Head of IT Risk and Security.
• The team oversees first line risk management and cyber capabilities, including risk frameworks and technology resilience.
• You will partner with 2nd and 3rd Line Risk teams to ensure comprehensive risk oversight.

What You Will Help Us Achieve

This high-impact role involves senior stakeholder management, including engagement with SMT and European technology leaders, and delivering milestones aligned with group and regulatory standards.

Specific Responsibilities

• Act as a sponsor for technology risk projects, including assessing the case for change, leading project delivery, and ensuring benefits realization.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to reduce cyber risks, ensure compliance, and improve operations within timelines and budgets.
• Represent ILG in European frameworks, advocate for improvements, and incorporate lessons learned.
• Promote a culture of security awareness through training, tabletop scenarios, and security-by-design principles.
• Ensure compliance with frameworks like EIOPA, DORA, ISO 27001, SOC2, and prepare proactively for regulatory changes.

Requirements for Success

• Experienced IT leader with technical expertise and experience in large organizations, preferably in financial services.
• Project management skills within IT Security, stakeholder management, and knowledge of security frameworks.
• Deep understanding of risk management frameworks, cyber maturity, and working in first or second line of defense.
• Subject Matter Expert in security controls and procedures.
• Leadership and relationship management skills, capable of partnering with senior executives and technology leaders.
