Job summary

Cronos Group in Stayner, Ontario, is seeking a Tissue Culture Technician to support the tissue culture program by preparing media, transplant plantlets, and monitoring cultures, with duties including data entry and reporting progress to the R&D team.

You will work with the tissue culture and R&D groups, ensure health of plants, maintain ERP records, and participate in meetings, reporting findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Graduates from a B.Sc. program in Horticulture, Microbiology, Plant Agriculture, Plant Biology, Plant Pathology or strong lab related work experience will be considered.
• Experience in tissue culture, plant and/or horticultural science, involvement in R&D projects is an asset.
• Ability to execute fine motoric movements while working in a sterile lab environment.
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to drive decision-making and effectively work with internal stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Presenting findings, scientific insights and recommendations to peers
• Other duties as required to support the organization.

As the Tissue Culture Technician, you will support the tissue culture program by preparing media, transplant plantlets, monitoring tissue cultures, transfer to other vessels, and other duties as assigned. You will be working with the tissue culture and R&D team together, ensuring that tissue culture plants are in optimal health and inventoried correctly in the ERP system. You will participate in R&D meetings, and are expected to deliver progress reports in a professional manner. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward- thinking.

This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario.

You’ll need to have:

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 (Stayner, Ontario*) per year

The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, applicable market data, internal equity, and business needs, and may vary within the stated range. This role may be eligible for bonus, incentive compensation, or other variable pay in accordance with applicable company plans.
