Job summary

Cronos Group, Stayner, Ontario, is seeking a Production Supervisor to coordinate day-to-day cannabis production operations, set up equipment, and ensure GMP-like practices are followed. You will assign work, mentor staff, and drive safety performance to meet targets.

This role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in GMP/GP production floor environment is an asset.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP systems – SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess labor needs and adjust staffing to meet production targets.
  • Ensure safety protocols, SOPs, and training documentation are followed.
  • Schedule staff to meet production goals and maintain timesheets.
  • Oversee KPI tracking and documentation of production activities.
  • Train Operators on equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate batch records and ensure SAP documentation is complete.
  • Lead by example and uphold work standards and safety regulations.

As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day plant production operations. Help in setting up the equipment to run production. Ensure Good Production Practices are followed during Production activities for cannabis related products/projects. This includes but is not limited to organizing and assigning work to shop floor personnel, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals/standards, developing, and mentoring team members, and driving safety performance results that meet and/or exceed company goal and targets. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, and forward- thinking.

This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario for the afternoon shift (4:30pm-1:00am).

What you’ll be doing:
  • Assess labor needs and make necessary adjustments to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Ensure that Production Operators are aware of and follow safety protocols and SOPs and document their training.
  • Schedule and organize staff to the appropriate to ensure team performs duties to meet production targets and expectations.
  • Ensure timesheets for all employees are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the documentation and KPI tracking of production room activities.
  • Understand the operation of all production equipment and train Operators accordingly.
  • Ensure the optimal functioning of equipment and report on maintenance requirements
  • Oversee assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of production equipment.
  • Perform and document all duties according to SOPs, Health Canada regulations and all other established safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with creating and/or revising SOPs
  • Lead by example and responsible for work standards of the team
  • Ensures safety regulations are met in all areas of responsibility and that employees perform the assigned work in a safe manner.
  • Ensure all functions and related documentation are completed accurately and in a timely fashion to meet production targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Department Management to develop departmental initiatives and strategies to increase efficiencies.
  • Report deviations and assist in investigations (propose solutions and resolve problems) concerning production issues.
  • Ensure that completed work orders are closed in SAP and batch records are accurate
  • *If supervising in F&P, supervisor will be responsible for creating, populating and maintaining master casing work order tracker
  • Other tasks as assigned by department management.
  • Required to work overtime as needed.
  • The work environment can be warm and humid environment.
  • Lifting up to 15- 20 lbs
  • Standing & walking for long periods of time
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
You’ll need to have:
  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in GPP production floor environment an asset
  • Detail oriented with strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, demonstrated through previous experience.
  • Must be flexible and capable of carrying multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and to work well as part of a team.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office/Sharepoint (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with ERP systems – SAP is preferred
  • First aid training is an asset

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 (Stayner, Ontario*) per year

The actual compensation offered will be based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, applicable market data, internal equity, and business needs, and may vary within the stated range. This role may be eligible for bonus, incentive compensation, or other variable pay in accordance with applicable company plans.
