  • Remove and install OTR tires on Haul Trucks and Graders.
  • Perform field air checks and maintain tooling.
  • Complete tire reports and Work Orders.

Job description

Position Scope

Position Scope

NACG is looking for a Tireperson to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and prioritize safety above all else.

For this role, NACG offers a combined gross rate of up to $51.29/hour depending on experience. There is room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

Site: Suncor Base Mine

Schedule: 14x14 (rotating days and nights)

Accommodations: Camp is not provided. $5/hour Living Out Allowance

Transportation: Busing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)

Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week

Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
  • Remove and install OTR tires on fleet of Haul Trucks including Ultra Class trucks, Graders
  • Remove, repair, and install light/medium duty tires as required
  • Perform field air checks on fleet
  • Complete comprehensive tire reports and Work Orders
  • Maintain tooling and equipment used for this role
Qualifications
What Makes You The ONE

• Class 5 License required (Class 3 is not required)
• Tire Industry Association Certificate (TIA) preferred
• Able to set up haul trucks and heavy equipment
• Previous experience with OTR tires required
• Mobile tire truck manipulator experience is an asset

What's Next

If selected to proceed, you will be asked to:

  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Provide valid copies of: CSO, Silica Awareness, Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness, OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness & H2S Awareness. All tickets must be completed through Energy Safety Canada
  • Undergo and pass random testing at Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills, and Kearl sites
  • Complete pre-employment tests:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
    • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
    • Audiometric Testing
    • Vision Screening
    • Criminal Record Check

Once dispatched, the following steps occur:

  • Receive a call from NACG to set up pre-employment testing
  • Receive an email with new hire paperwork
  • After results and paperwork are received, candidates will be contacted to schedule orientation and confirm start date
