We're looking for hands-on team members to join our tire retread facility in Kamloops. This role offers the chance to learn specialized skills while working with heavy equipment tires that keep BC's industries moving.

About The Work

Tire retreading gives worn tires a second life by removing old tread and carefully applying new material. It's detailed work that requires patience and attention to quality, but it makes a real difference—helping customers get more value from their tire investments while reducing waste.

Our facility works with Off-The-Road (OTR) tires from construction, mining, and industrial equipment. These are substantial tires that require proper technique and safety practices. The work can be physically demanding and temperatures in the plant rise during summer months, but many of our team members find the hands-on nature of the work rewarding.

Job Responsibilities

  • Using hand tools to identify and prepare tires for repair.
  • Train to follow established retreading procedure.
  • Methodical and patient approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Safety mindset and follow all safety procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required.
  • Required ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a high preforming team environment.
  • Drivers License preferred.

Why Kal Tire?

  • Our aim is that the career of every team member is supported by quality leadership, training, and opportunities for advancement.
  • This position starts at $20 per hour and could increase depending on experience and mechanical aptitude.
  • We offer a clear path for career advancement with wage increases along the way.
  • Medical, dental, vision, massage therapy & EAP benefits plus RRSP matching 2%-5%, paid vacation, paid sick days, & opportunities for Over-Time.
  • Additional Bonus may be obtained through our Incentive Program which rewards performance, quality, positive attitude, and safe work culture.
  • A perks program that offers employee discounts on tires, services and more.
  • Discount on tires and mechanical services
  • Opportunities for professional development, such as training programs, and mentorship.

Hiring Process

Upon shortlist, you will be contacted by a member of our team and invited to an onsite interview with a possible walkthrough of the facility including the service area so please dress accordingly.
