Job summary

Gateway Hyundai in the Quad Counties is seeking a Tire/Lube Technician to diligently maintain, repair, and service customer vehicles, focusing on safety and customer satisfaction while supporting the service department.

The role includes lubricating engines, oil changes, tire rotations, inspection for leaks, and clear communication with the Service Manager. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule and competitive hourly pay of $19–$21 CAD per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license (driving record check).
• Automotive repair experience is considered an asset.
• Computer skills.
• Strong oral & written skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify any observed malfunctions and inform the Service Manager of required repair.
• Explain procedures and repairs directly to the Service Manager if beyond the scope of a standard lube assignment.
• Review and analyze actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
• Encourage compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Notifying the Service Manager when vehicle maintenance or servicing cannot be completed within scheduled timeframes.
• Applying lubricants to applicable parts of vehicle engines, including oil change, to prevent premature engine wear and ensure optimal engine performance.
• Lubricating wheel bearings to prevent excessive tire wear.
• Performing engine cleanings to prevent rust formation.
• Replacing cabin, fuel, air, and oil filters as required.
• Performing tire rotations to ensure even tire wear.
• Testing tire pressure and adding air as needed.
• Thoroughly inspecting customers’ vehicles for oil leaks.
• Making recommendations for additional servicing based on initial vehicle inspection.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lube/Tire Technician is responsible for diligently maintaining, repairing, and servicing customer vehicles to ensure both customer safety and satisfaction while contributing to overall departmental success.
