A municipal opportunity with the City of Lethbridge for a Time & Labour Technician. This non-permanent role involves working collaboratively to manage payroll data and provide exceptional service to employees while ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols. Candidates should possess relevant systems knowledge and strong attention to detail, with the ability to adjust to high-demand workloads.
(Non-Permanent, Casual; 0 to 75 hours bi-weekly Monday-Friday)
The City of Lethbridge, People & Culture Department, currently has an opportunity for a non-permanent Time & Labour Technician to work in a causal capacity on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for vacation and absence leave and to support the team with special projects, during peak season and high-demand workloads. Reporting to the Time & Labour Coordinator, this position assists in delivering a critical service to our organization, working as part of a team that processes time and labour data for over 1800 employees. We are looking for a positive, results-oriented team member who displays professionalism, is detail-oriented, and committed to providing a high caliber of service in a deadline-driven environment.

The successful candidate will be required to work full-time (37.5 hours per week) for a minimum of four (4) weeks upon hiring, to complete onboarding and intensive job training.
Candidates under consideration must have a flexible schedule and at times be available on short notice. Vacation coverage is most common but not exclusive to, summer months and December holiday season.
The Role:
Providing outstanding and dependable service to customers
Accurately and efficiently preparing and submitting payroll data
Subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Absence Management
Acting as a trusted and respected source of time and labour information
Reviewing documents/timesheets in line with appropriate approvals and predetermined protocols
Working collaboratively to maximize process and system efficiencies
Coordinating with managers and supervisors to ensure accuracy and consistency of data
Supporting the People & Culture team with various tasks and other duties, as assigned
Your experience and skillset:
Advanced systems knowledge working with Oracle PeopleSoft or a similar personnel management database system; Preference will be given to individuals with previous timekeeping experience, staff scheduling systems/processes, knowledge of collective agreement parameters, and additional related training or education
Strong attention to detail and maintaining confidentiality, coupled with accurate, rapid electronic data entry skills
Excellent customer service skills that are timely and responsive
Proficient ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time dead-lined environment
Success working collaboratively within a team atmosphere
Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain complex timekeeping processes in an understandable manner
A willingness to learn, adapt and embrace change, with a teachable spirit
WAGE: $38.31 per hour
