What will you do?

As part of Timberland Sales team, the Inside Sales Representative (IHSR) is responsible for managing designated accounts and identifying new opportunities to achieve sales targets. The ISR will focus on increasing sales, service, and support with independent retailers across Canada from a remote capacity. You’ll be responsible for maintaining Timberland’s Brand Positioning while driving revenue growth.

You'll be a trusted member of our team reporting to the Director of Sales, Lifestyle & Specialty. You’ll manage a designated list of customers across Canada, collaborate with regional sales teams, and work closely with Sales and Sales Operations on reporting, forecasting, and inventory management.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and solutions through calls, internet research, and virtual meetings. Your daily activities will include:

  • Recommending products based on cost, availability, specifications, sales potential, and customer needs. Presenting prices, credit, and terms according to standard procedures.
  • Supporting wholesale customers via our B2B website and digital assets. Following up on sales orders to ensure proper allocation, shipment, and billing.
  • Working effectively with the Sales Team, partnering with regional sales to understand the customer base, establish relationships, and develop win-win plans. Collaborating with Marketing, Product, and Sales Operations for successful execution.
  • Maintaining reports on sell-in, sell-thru, and new business opportunities. Reporting calls and sales activities regularly.
  • Resolving issues related to pricing, delivery, and order problems with customers, Customer Service, and Credit teams as needed.

What do you need to succeed?

  • BA, BS, or equivalent college degree
  • At least 1 year of selling experience (retail, outside, or telephone sales)
  • Knowledge of the footwear industry
  • Bilingual in English and French (oral and written)

Additional foundation skills include:

  • Motivated, organized, responsible self-starter eager to be part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to learn and maintain product knowledge
  • Capability to handle multiple projects independently
  • Knowledge of inventory systems and availability
  • Proficiency in MS Office; SAP and CGNOS experience preferred
  • Location: While remote, candidates should reside within Canada to serve clients effectively.
