Overview

The Accounting Technician plays a vital role in supporting the accounting and operations team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting requirements. This position ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards while providing timely financial information to management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently while contributing to the overall success of the business.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with the working hours of 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday. The starting wage will range between $22-$30 per hour depending on experience levels. Group benefits are available after a successful 90 day probation period.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and customer payments in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other accounts regularly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Prepare and submit payroll data for processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Monitor and track project / job costing, ensuring expenses are allocated correctly.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling and analyzing financial data.
  • Assist with tax filings, audits, and other compliance-related requirements.
  • Maintain organized and confidential financial files and documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to other departments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with payroll administration and job costing is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
