The Bloorview Research Institute at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital invites internal applications and nominations for a Canada Research Chair (CRC). This position is for one Tier 2 CRC for a five-year, renewable term, with an anticipated start date of October 1, 2026.
The Bloorview Research Institute (BRI), located within the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and is recognized nationally and internationally for its work with children with disabilities. BRI focuses on client and family-centered rehabilitation research and hosts leading scientists in various fields including qualitative research, outcome measurement, assistive technology, neuroimaging, and clinical trials.
This special call aims to address the underrepresentation of persons with disabilities in the CRC Program, following the provisions for equity, diversity, and inclusion. It is open only to individuals who self-identify as persons with disabilities as defined by the relevant guidelines. This initiative supports the University of Toronto’s and Holland Bloorview’s commitments to equity and diversity, and aligns with their public mission to promote inclusive research environments.
Tier 2 CRCs are intended for emerging scholars within ten years of their PhD. Candidates should demonstrate research excellence, potential for international recognition, ability to attract and mentor future researchers, and propose an innovative research agenda aligned with CIHR subject matter eligibility. Candidates more than ten years from their highest degree, or with career breaks, may have their eligibility assessed through the program’s provisions for career interruptions.
