Job summary

The Municipality of East Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada, is seeking a Ticketed Operator at the East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz to join our team. You will help maintain the ice rink and supporting ice plant equipment, and perform day-to-day facilities maintenance to support sporting events and community programs.

Requirements include a 2nd Class Refrigeration Ticket, experience with arena operations or facility management, current WHMIS/CPR/First Aid or willingness to complete training, background

Qualifications

• 2nd Class Refrigeration Ticket required.
• Experience operating arenas, refrigeration plants, or facility operations.
• WHMIS, CPR/First Aid certification (current) or willingness to complete training.
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry check required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings and weekends.
• Understanding of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in a customer-focused environment.

Do you have your 2nd class refrigeration licence, are retired and/or looking for casual work? Do you enjoy being a central part of the local sporting community and delivering exceptional customer service? If so, the East Hants Sportsplex is the place for you!

We are recruiting for a Ticketed Operator to join our team. Our Operators are responsible for day-to-day maintenance at the East Hants Sportsplex, maintenance of the ice rink, and ensuring ice plant equipment is checked and maintained.

What You Can Offer

• 2nd Class Refrigeration Ticket.
• Experience operating arenas, refrigeration plants, and/or facility operations.
• Current WHMIS, CPR/First Aid certification, or a willingness and ability to successfully complete training
• Clean Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry check
• Ability to do physical work, including lifting up to 30lbs.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include some days, evenings, and weekends. Casual, part-time, or full-time scheduling is available.
