Hourly Rate:
Ticket Taker starting at $17.56 per hour
Bartender starting at $17.69 per hour.

This posting is for current and future opportunities and will be filled on an as needed basis. Applications will be considered for any openings that become available between now and June 30, 2025.

Job Responsibilities:

The Oakville Centre has a 497 seat theatre tiered over 17 rows (stairs) as well as a 120 seat studio theatre on the lower level. Front of House shifts include evenings, weekends and some day time work. This position is part of the Front of House team and will be required to:

As a Ticket Taker:

  • Have a good understanding of theatre performances and policies in order to assist and provide excellent customer service.
  • Handle or re-direct enquiries from patrons, sponsors, retail clients, artists and caterers.
  • Assist ushers with program preparation, greeting and seating patrons.
  • Take tickets (both manually and with electronic scanners) and ensure that purchased seats have been correctly designated.
  • Keep the front entrance, auditorium and washrooms presentable.
  • Know and assist with medical emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Participate in mandatory regular staff meetings.
  • Wear the designated uniform.
  • Other duties as assigned.

As a Bartender:

  • Have a good understanding of bar products and policies in order to assist and provide excellent customer service.
  • Sell and service beverages, snacks and artist merchandise using cash register, credit/debit machine and manual cash transactions.
  • Ensure that alcoholic beverages are served in accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
  • Take an opening and closing inventory of bar stock and cash floats.
  • Receive and put away bar stock.
  • Set-up and clean-up bar for service at performances and/or receptions.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in or completion of secondary school.
  • Previous customer service and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment, including working experience in the service or retail industry is required.
  • Previous knowledge about theatre services and performances an asset.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is a requirement of this position.
  • In order to be a Bartender, must be of legal age to service and sell alcoholic beverages (18) and hold a Smart Serve (SIP) certificate.
  • Applicants who do not meet the age requirement to serve alcohol will not require Smart Serve certification and can only be hired as a Ticket Taker.
  • First aid certification is an asset.
  • Successful candidates, who are new hires and/or who have not performed in this position previously will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment.
