Job description

City Experiences is seeking a Ticket & Retail Sales Attendant for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

Please note, this is a seasonal/contract position.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About The Opportunity

The successful Ticket & Retail Sales Attendant will warmly greet guests, distribute boarding passes, answer questions, diligently collect payments and vouchers, and make reservations while maintaining an upbeat attitude. The Ticket & Retail Sales Attendant reports directly to the Ticket & Retail Sales Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Receive passengers, inform them about boarding procedures, and distribute boarding passes
  • Explain products, services, and prices; answer guest questions
  • Collect outstanding balances and payment vouchers from third-party distributors
  • Make and confirm cruise reservations via phone, mail, and computer; maintain inventory of passenger space
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding booking, ticketing, and boarding needs
  • Address guests by name and recognize special occasions
  • Assist with retail inventory and stock shelves
  • Explain and promote local products sold in the gift shop
  • Use Point of Sale system to process payments for cruise tickets and retail items
  • Notify guests of changes to cruise schedules or departure locations
  • Follow all safety, departmental, and service standards policies
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
  • Proficiency with computers and applications like Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and write English; capable of entering and maintaining electronic information
  • Cash handling and basic math skills
  • Reliable, responsible, and dependable
  • Ability to work extended periods standing
  • Availability to work on all major holidays
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (18 kg)
  • Service-oriented attitude
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Calm and effective handling of high-stress situations
  • Willingness to wear PPE if required
