Qualifications

Position Details:
  • Position Status: Temporary Part Time
  • Term Ends: August 31, 2025
  • Location: Colonel Belcher, VAC Funded
  • Hours: 46.50 FTE: 0.60
  • Shift: Days/Evenings
  • Shift Times: 0800-1615 / 1200-2015
  • Union: CUPE GSS
  • Rate of Pay: $21.11 - $23.57
  • PCN: 27LCTAd4

Position Summary:

Under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and care plans, performs routine client care support activities to optimize residents' functional abilities. Duties include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), instructing craft classes, assisting with social events, group exercises, and games. Responsible for other related duties as required.

Program Summary:

Complex Care – for frail seniors requiring interdisciplinary team care to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable, and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from Grade 12
  • Current and active Basic Life Support Provider CPR
  • PCA, Certificate in leisure activities, or equivalent
  • Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
  • Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility preferred
  • Geriatric experience is an asset
  • Program-specific training/experience is an asset
