Job summary

Providence is seeking a full-time Teacher at Windsor Park in Calgary. The ideal candidate holds an Alberta Interim or Permanent Teaching Certificate and will contribute to a vibrant, play-based program for children with complex needs.

Staff must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and pass a police check with vulnerable sector screening. Benefits include health/dental coverage, sick days, and professional development allowances.

Qualifications

• Education degree from a recognized Canadian university.
• Alberta Interim/Permanent Teacher Certificate.
• First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Experience supporting children who display challenging behaviour or have disabilities is preferred.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement programs following Alberta Education ECS guidelines.
• Provide developmentally appropriate and engaging learning opportunities to children in a vibrant play-based program.
• Establish and maintain a classroom that is safe, stimulating, and age appropriate.
• Provide written reports or updates relating to the child’s progress and goals as described in their IPP’s.
• Supervise and lead classroom Teaching/Therapy Assistants by setting clear expectations, offering ongoing support, and fostering a positive, team-oriented classroom culture.
