About the Opportunity

Note: Parking is free at ECFH.

Reporting to the Registered Nurse / LPN and working under the supervision of a Recreation Therapist, the Therapeutic Assistant supports health promotion and therapeutic services for patients. The role involves working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and communicate patient-specific information to enhance treatment outcomes.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Grade XII plus a one-year certificate or diploma in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation
  • Current CPR certification
  • Preferred: St. John Ambulance First Aid certification
  • Asset: Certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Fluency in other languages, especially French, is a plus

Hours
  • Part-Time, Long Assignment (50%) / 37.5 hours biweekly
  • Duration: May 2025 to November 2026 (approximately 18 months)
Compensation and Benefits

$23.55 - $27.25 per hour

Successful candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
