Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy or IV certification needed.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as R.N.

Job Overview: Determines the suitability of whole blood and apheresis blood component donors and patients according to established standards. Collects blood components and therapeutic products from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures. Possesses knowledge of blood collection theory and practice in order to diagnose, educate and treat donor, patient, and staff responses to actual or potential problems.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Registered nurse with New Jersey licensure.
  • Phlebotomy or IV certification. Current
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum 3 years R.N. licensure

Preferred:

  • Apheresis and/or automated medical instrumentation expertise desirable
  • Background in whole blood separation techniques helpful

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Part Time
  • Day Shift

Essential Functions:

  • Determines the suitability of whole blood and apheresis blood component donors and patients according to established standards,
  • Collection of HPCs-Stem Cells including immune effector cells, and therapeutic products from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures,
  • Performs clinical apheresis and photopheresis procedures,
  • Possesses knowledge of blood collection theory and practice in order to diagnose, educate and treat donor, patient, and responses to actual or potential problems,
  • Provide medical screening of stem cell donors and patients,
  • Handles patient and blood donor reactions
