The City of Delta is looking for a creative and well-organized individual to work as a Theatre Technician 1 in our cultural facilities.
This semi-skilled technical position provides a variety of stage services in Delta’s cultural venues. Responsibilities include supporting stage production, scenic lighting, audio gear, and staging setup. The Theatre Technician 1 will coordinate with supervisory staff and venue lessees to determine the best methods to deliver services.
The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of methods, practices, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in a municipal performing arts complex. They should also have experience programming and operating sound control for live and pre-recorded events.
This auxiliary role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including daytime, evenings, and weekends. The candidate must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12, supplemented by technical courses related to the work, sound stage experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience with lighting, sound, and stage equipment.
