Specialties within day surgery/short stay theatres at Queen Margaret Hospital include gynaecology, urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial, and breast surgery. Hours are Monday to Friday with a variety of shifts across both Queen Margaret Hospital and Victoria Hospital. Flexibility to work across both sites is required.

Post 2: Operating Department Practitioner / Anaesthetic Practitioner

Salary: 33.55 hours (pro-rata for part-time hours)

We seek a hardworking, enthusiastic, and friendly individual, either RGN or ODP, to join our dynamic, fast-paced Day Surgery Theatre Suite. The role requires experience in anaesthetics, with additional skills in scrub or recovery preferred. The surgical specialties include Maxillofacial, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedic trauma and elective, Gynaecology, Breast, Minor Plastics, Urology, and Ophthalmology. Primary duties involve anaesthetics, with the ability to work cohesively within multidisciplinary teams in recovery and scrub areas. Hours will vary to meet service needs, including shifts and weekends, with flexibility to work across all sites in Fife. The role includes a robust induction program supported by Clinical Educators and an Education Coordinator. Theatres are fast-paced environments that require a team-oriented approach. If you enjoy a challenge and are interested in joining this busy unit, please apply.
