Great Big Theatre Company is seeking Theatre Coaches for its 2024 summer Theatre Arts Day Camps. Approximately 40 positions are available for a two-month period in July and August across 14 locations in the GTA and southwest Ontario.
This salaried role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and young people, possess theatrical experience, and are either completing or enrolled in a university-level drama program (asset, not mandatory).
A valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required. Please contact your local police services early to obtain this, as delays may occur. CPR/First-aid certification and personal transportation are assets.
The role involves supervising activities, ensuring children's safety and well-being, and facilitating a positive camp experience for children aged 6 to 14. Responsibilities include drama instruction, games, and assisting children in preparing for a final performance. Working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for extended hours. Compensation starts at $18.20/hr, with higher rates for qualified supervisory roles, which require extensive travel and personal vehicles.
Locations include Burlington, Hamilton/Dundas, Etobicoke, Guelph, London, Mississauga, North York, Oakville, Oshawa, Richmond Hill, Toronto/Beach, Waterloo, and Whitby.
