The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday.


We are looking to recruit a Theatre Clerk to support our Theatre Services within the Institute of Neurological Sciences based on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus.


Our ideal candidate will provide a comprehensive clerical service to the medical and theatre nursing staff within our Neurosurgical and Maxillo-facial Theatres. This post relates to theatre activity and utilisation, patient throughput and patient specific information with the purpose of assisting the nursing team to manage resources. The post holder will assist the Theatre Coordinator with the maintenance of data for the Opera Theatre Utilisation System and to be first line support for all Opera related issues including software and system maintenance support. The post holder will provide a comprehensive clerical service to the medical and theatre nursing staff within Neurosurgical and OMFS Theatres to ensure efficient patient care delivery. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential. Previous experience in Trackcare and proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential, and previous experience of the Opera Theatre system is desirable.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
