  • Three years related work experience in technical theatre.

Position Information


Location: New Westminster Campus

Salary Range: $30.63 per hour (with wage increments to a maximum of $34.07 per hour, which includes a hard-to-recruit allowance of $2,000). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Good working knowledge of English (written and verbal).
  • Completed a Degree program in Technical Theatre at a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent with three years related work experience in a wide variety of technical theatre related areas or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience and ability to work with both Lighting and Sound is a requirement.
  • Good working knowledge of safety measures used in a workshop/performance setting.
  • Physically capable of the manual labour related to constructing and maintaining sets.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with faculty, staff, students and community users and maintains a high degree of confidentiality.

Additional Information

This Auxiliary on-call position is available starting May 30, 2025. Regular hours of work are on call as needed. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department's need. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. The position is located at the New Westminster campus. Douglas College (DC) is committed to supporting a healthy work/life balance for employees. A modified/flexible schedule and/or hybrid work from home arrangement may be considered.
