Nova Staffing is seeking an experienced Testing & Service Technician in the HVAC industry, for a client close to the Hamilton area. See below for further details :

Responsibilities :

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation
• Use hand and power tools to assemble, install, and repair units
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
• Perform testing of HVAC systems
• Routine maintenance or service, including system maintenance, recharge, checking and testing regulators, calibrating system
• Conduct troubleshooting and repairs for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heat pump, electrical, and control systems
• Promote teamwork and good company morale; mentor and share knowledge with teammates; conduct yourself with the highest ethical standards

Qualifications :

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Post-secondary education in HVAC Technician or related field preferred
• G2 gas license is required
• 3 years’ experience in HVAC testing, repair and/or servicing; working with electrical components required
• Experience with commercial air handling units and working in a manufacturing setting an asset
• Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift heavy parts (50 lbs.) and sheet metal on a frequent basis; ability to stand for extended periods; ability to crouch, climb, reach, twist, and bend
• Ability to work in a team or group environment and independently with minimal instruction
• Ability to work under pressure and short deadlines
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills, professionalism, and interpersonal skills to work with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds

Shift : Day shift

Payrate : $30-36 / hr (dependent on work experience)

Job Type : Full-time
