Job summary

Agilus by Synergie in Ottawa is seeking a Test Operator for overnight shifts in the electro-mechanical assembly industry. Under day-to-day supervision, you will perform a broad range of tasks in a LEAN, highly structured environment to produce high-quality, high-volume product.

Responsibilities include testing per process docs, inventory and label management, wiring and panel work, and collaboration with Engineering on improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in inverter testing and wiring of control and power panels.
• IPC 620 certification required.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of cable sizes, types, ratings and termination/crimping.
• High school diploma minimum.

Responsibilities

• Test according to process documentation.
• Inventory control, cycle counting, and computer transactions.
• Component or wire preparation; read wiring tables.
• Maintain test fixtures per written instructions.
• Print and track labels to planned orders.
• Collaborate with Engineering for continuous improvement.
• Understand control panel wiring from drawings.
• Report issues to Team Lead affecting the daily plan.

Job description

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Test Operator (Overnight) in the electro-mechanical assembly industry in Ottawa, Ontario. With day-to-day supervision, carries out a broad variety of assigned tasks in a highly structured, repetitive LEAN environment. Key is to demonstrate a broad number of tasks well, and repeat these tasks as required, to produce a high volume of quality product in the shortest possible time, and to maintain aggressive production schedules. Is flexible to work on various products and processes within the manufacturing operation, dependent upon the need within the production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Independently test according to process documentation
• Proper execution of Inventory control, cycle counting, and computer transactions
• Component or wire preparation, understanding test documents, reading wiring tables
• Maintain and operate test fixtures and associated equipment per written test instructions
• Print labels and ensure any printed labels are transacted to the correct planned order on tracker
• Work with Engineering to implement continuous improvement
• Understand Control panel wiring and cubicle fabrication from mechanical/electrical drawings
• Reporting to Team Lead highlighting issues affecting daily plan

Requirements

• Experience in inverter testing and wiring of both control and power panels to wiring schedules and drawings is essential
• Nationally recognized certification in the field of panel wiring/electronic engineering
• Certification to IPC 620
• Must be able to interpret electrical drawings
• Experience/knowledge in selection of cable sizes, types and ratings along with application of cable termination/crimping techniques and soldering skills
• Must be able to separate control and power cables, identify and terminate wires as appropriate
• High School Diploma, minimum
