About the workplace

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.

As a Test Environment Management Specialist, you will:

  • Ensure that Vancity integrates quality assurance and testing activities throughout its software delivery process to ensure applications meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Coordinate the preparation, support, and availability of test environments for both project execution and ongoing operational support.

A typical day would involve:

  • Developing and managing test environment strategies, ensuring alignment with project timelines, business goals, and software configurations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (development, testing, infrastructure) to define, set up, and monitor test environments, troubleshooting issues and implementing automated tools for efficiency.
  • Communicating environment status, changes, and issues to stakeholders, while driving continuous improvements through best practices and process enhancements.
  • Configuring test environments and data to simulate production conditions, while building monitoring systems to track key performance metrics.
  • Resource Management: Allocating and managing resources for test environments, including hardware, software, and data management.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure test environments are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing best practices for environment management, including automation of environment provisioning and configuration.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Monitoring the performance of test environments and providing regular updates to stakeholders regarding environment status and issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Liaising with Infrastructure, Network, and other teams to diagnose and resolve issues related to test environments.
  • Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of test environment configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensuring that test environments adhere to security protocols and compliance standards.
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to troubleshoot performance issues, continuously refining testing strategies to meet evolving business needs.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a test environment management related role
  • Knowledge of integration platforms like Mulesoft is required
  • Knowledge of Core Banking applications like T24 will be an asset
  • Strong communication skills to convey information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $81,200 to $122,000 (mid-point: $101,600)
