About the Role!

We’re hiring a Test Engineer with over 5 years of experience in mobile app test automation, focused on iOS and Android platforms. This role emphasizes building and maintaining automation test suites that work across different devices, screen sizes, and OS versions.

You will be working in an engineering-oriented fast-paced environment, with minimal management and detailed task definition. You need to be a self-starter and excel at making your own decisions and organizing your work according to the declared goals.

This is a remote position with working hours in Pacific Time (PT).

You will

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for iOS and Android apps
  • Create automated regression suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Execute tests across various form factors and OS versions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to align on test coverage and automation goals.
  • Identify bottlenecks and stability issues in automated tests.
  • Mentor junior automation engineers and contribute to the automation strategy.

You have

  • 5+ years of experience in mobile app test automation (not web app testing).
  • Deep experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android, across different form factors and OS versions.
  • Proficient with mobile automation tools such as Appium, XCUITest, and/or Espresso.
  • Strong understanding of the iOS and Android ecosystems, including device fragmentation and platform-specific behaviors.
  • Experience with test scripting languages such as JavaScript, Java, Python, or Swift.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control systems.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to work during the Pacific Time Zone's regular business hours
  • Flexible to attend remote meetings during the evening when required.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on Appium experience.
  • Experience leading small automation teams.
  • Understanding of manual testing and ability to support it when needed.
