We are looking for a candidate that has 5+ years of direct work experience in a sales capacity, experience in technology-based Equipment and product integration, experience in field support and training, and experience in the retail food equipment industry.
Job Description
Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Food Retail, the Retail Territory Sales Representative for Ontario will be responsible for outside selling and the solicitation of retail equipment to both new customers and existing customers. Territory management of assigned accounts within a geographic region and all sold equipment destined for the assigned territory, within the Retail customer segment. As well as training and support within the region and outside the region as required, to support growth initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and grow both internal and external customer relationships.
- Maintain the highest level of integrity and work ethic and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the highest level of product knowledge possible, of both existing and new products.
- Provide feedback internally of all competitive activities, industry trends and competitive intelligence
- Identify new retail opportunities, define customer requirements and track along with converting into new sales for both existing and new customers
- Develop, implement, and deliver product presentations tailored to customers as appropriate
- Manage Bakery and Weigh/Wrap sales in partnership with our channel partners, targeting independent Retail, within the province and regardless of channel.
- Support all identified/targeted customers with maximum effort and support to drive and grow revenue within the assigned territory and National initiatives, including new equipment on site training,
- Work with all product lines on enhancements and new product development; marketing programs; sales tools; and pricing strategies related to assigned accounts.
- Maintain deep understanding of key operational issues, trends, and emerging strategies of managed accounts.
- Manage all pricing issues and maintain discounting to acceptable levels
- Coordinate all account service activity within the province.
- Track competitive trends and pricing and actively communicate findings with appropriate field and product line management.
- Conduct research and identify potential accounts for growth.
- Assist account buyers/procurement with equipment selection/specification, prepare quotes, track and secure orders.
- Provide training and technical information as needed on retail products to end users, ensure the customer specialist/operations team, is proficient and comfortable with all retail products purchased.
- Support all Retail projects with end users in assigned territory and beyond when required.
- Submit timely reports on sales activity, competitive and market conditions.
- Attend all local industry/customer functions and travel as needed to support the company and customers.
Requirements:
- College diploma or Bachelor Business Administration, Marketing or a related field or equivalent experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications along with experience in wired and wireless networks
- Must enjoy consultative selling, working with people and being in a fast-paced environment
- Self motivated, with high energy and driven by ego to surpass sales goals.
- Strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
- Account Management and Development acumen and a passion for B2B end user selling
- Strong skills in conflict resolution and “win/win” solutions
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in CRM management, with the ability to maintain existing customer profiles and add as required.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to work with various groups to reach a common goal
- Self-motivated, with high energy and driven by ego to surpass sales goals.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of Financial Statements
- Ability to make an informed decision using available information on their own.
- Must be able to work autonomously after receiving direction to completion of task.
