Territory Sales Manager – HVAC Equipment and Solutions sector Greater Vancouver Region, BC Our client, a well-known wholesale distributor that has been a leader supporting the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning sector in Canada, is seeking to add a Territory Sales Manager to their growing BC sales team. This professional will be responsible for working closely with the contractor client base across the Lower Mainland market. The primary focus is the ‘Residential Contractor’ segment. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and highly motivated ‘energetic’ individual who has a compelling drive, technical ‘mechanical’ aptitude, and previous outside sales experience. You will primarily target and oversee all sales activities in the Greater Vancouver territory. This position requires no overnight travel, yet comes with flexibility upside, allowing this Territory Sales Manager to work remotely, or from a branch office setting, depending on what ‘you’ feel is best for the business. Please note, you must reside in the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley area to be consider. Responsibilities:
  • Actively prospect and secure new contractor customers to support new account activation goals and revenue growth targets. Primary target clients for his hire are Residential/Multifamily HVAC Contractors/Companies.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders which include branch personnel (Branch Manager(s), Inside Sales Representatives and branch operations team members) and district resources.
  • Source project sales opportunities for ongoing revenue opportunities
  • Focus on selling value by promoting the organization’s ability to create a true partnership within a highly competitive marketplace.
  • Strategically manage your territory to maximize time in markets, and stay connected with existing clients, while pursuing new account opportunities in those same areas.
Requirements:
  • Must possess Technical Aptitude and be mechanically inclined (preferably with direct sales experience in HVAC space – hydronics, and plumbing are also transferrable)
  • 5+ years experience in a client facing outside sales and/or in outside account management environment.
  • Exceptions to this point, would be made for those Counter Sales, or Inside Sales professionals, that currently work within the HVAC sector that are looking to grow into an outside sales position; or to HVAC professionals currently in the trade (eg. Service Managers, Estimators, Technicians, Project Managers) looking to move away from the tools into a sales career.
  • Initiative to prospect for new business with a track-record of success managing a key account book of business within a territory.
  • Ability and successfully history selling a ‘value-proposition’ as well on ‘total cost of ownership’
  • Possess the people-skills to build relationships within the industry – networking is important.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support demand and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time and organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple ‘to do list’ items.
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s Licence
