With a strong presence in the industry and a commitment to innovation and service, they are looking to add a Controls Salesperson to their team. This role would have a focus in the lower mainland, to grow into a role with regional responsibilities across BC.
Position Overview
This opportunity is ideal for someone with a sales background in controls and building automation systems. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of HVAC system design and controls, ideally with experience in both service and construction environments.
This is a position that comes with a salary, and additional compensation, targeting the $120,000-$140,000 range.
Key Responsibilities
Offer guidance to contractors and assist in preparing project quotes
Recommend retrofit solutions and product alternatives to address specific client needs, including system startups and modifications
Program and commission both Stand-Alone and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems
Perform service checks including calibration, testing, and system verification on control equipment
Diagnose and complete repairs or replacements during system startup phases
Support new construction projects by assisting with commissioning and system implementation
Provide training for building operators and maintain close collaboration with clients and contractors
Build and nurture relationships with key industry professionals—engineers, architects, contractors, developers, and building owners—to expand business and meet strategic goals
Stay informed on industry regulations, codes, and market developments to ensure compliance and identify growth opportunities
Demonstrate a proactive approach to personal and professional development
Engage in self-learning and participate in factory visits or manufacturer training to stay current on new products and software tools
Contribute to the rollout of new products and services within the market
Participate in team meetings and relevant industry events (e.g., SMACNA, MCA, VRCA)
Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Required Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and operations
Degree or diploma in a technical discipline preferred
Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in HVAC or Building Automation
Ability to interpret mechanical and technical drawings
Strong communication abilities—verbal, written, and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Capable of working independently under pressure
Strategic mindset with an entrepreneurial drive and a passion for innovation
High level of personal integrity and a commitment to collaboration and respect
